Near Marrakech, women have been weaving plant fibers of all kinds for centuries. This is where we make our YZA baskets, gleaning scraps of leather from tanners in the medina.

From “default” to style, reinventing the basket.
The way traditional baskets are made involves a natural "defect", an irregularity that cannot be circumvented... a wave, at the place where the craftswoman finishes her weaving.
It is this small detail that we wanted to amplify and magnify using ultra-local and sustainable materials. We mixed white Doum with colored leather from the tanners, the details of which are also woven by hand.
